What is a QQL Mint Pass?
BY HEEEY
A QQL Mint Pass is the key that allows a QQL seed to become an official work in the QQL collection. The Mint Pass essentially empowers the collector to become a co-creator and curator within the QQL ecosystem by participating in deciding which generated outputs become part of the official collection.
Collectors need to own a Mint Pass in order to “burn” it to create a new QQL NFT out of a seed of their choice. When the collection was released in September 2022, there were 999 Mint Passes and 0 QQLs. As QQLs get minted over time, Mint Passes are destroyed one-by-one until no Mint Passes remain and the collection is complete. Mint Passes don’t expire and can be used any time.

How QQL works
QQL's Mint Pass system presents a unique approach to long-form generative art. Unlike platforms such as Art Blocks, where collectors mint randomly generated outputs from a pre-defined algorithm, QQL empowers collectors with significant curatorial control. Each Mint Pass grants its holder the ability to select and mint a single seed, leading to a gradual and deliberate expansion of the collection.
Because anyone can curate QQL seeds, the collection becomes a collective effort where “parametric artists” thoroughly explore and curate the algorithm while collectors have the final say in what seeds make it into the collection. A Mint Pass holder may choose to explore the algorithm themselves or select a seed from another parametric artist. With time the QQL collection takes shape through a collective aesthetic sensibility.
How can I get a Mint Pass?

Secondary market Mint Passes are available on marketplaces such as OpenSea.

Because counterfeit Mint Pass collections exist, it’s important to make sure that a Mint Pass is legitimate before purchasing. Please only use official links.
